2016 Octoberfest Recap

Friends and members of our chapter gathered at another Michiana watering hole to celebrate Octoberfest on October 12th. The selected venue was the Evil Czech Brewery and Public House in Mishawaka.

The event, organized by Spearhead Sales & Marketing, was created to celebrate another successful year for local members of our profession. In all, just over 40 participants gathered for tasty finger food, drinks, and lots of socializing.

Premier Sponsor for the event was Libart North America, represented by Jason Clarkson and Jeff Manger. Jason delivered a brief presentation on Libart retractable enclosures and handed out a couple of gifts following a brief “quiz” on his “lecture.”

Other event sponsors included Alliance Architects, Envel Facade, Office Interiors, Old Fort, Overhead Door, United Shade and Spearhead.

Shortly thereafter, Chad Root and Jamie Simpson of Spearhead held the drawing for the most desired prizes of the evening: stainless steel Growlers filled with the winner’s personal selection of spirits. The only real snafu for the evening was related to these prizes. After the drawing, Jamie announced;” For those who won a growler, go to the counter near the front entrance to get yours.” Unfortunately, some people heard: “For those who want a growler . . . ” Thinking that free growlers were theirs for the taking, some left the counter a little disappointed!

Despite that, there was plenty of time for getting reacquainted with colleagues, meeting new people, and exchanging business cards. And the hosts extended free drinks beyond the two “free” drinks promised to all. That left some burning the oil well into the evening.
